SustainAI · Sustainability assessment and carbon credit readiness

From Climate Ambition to Credible Carbon Value.

SustainAI helps African businesses and project developers measure environmental impact, plan decarbonisation and evaluate carbon credit opportunities through expert advisory and proprietary assessment technology.

The SustainAI journey

  1. 01Measure · What are our emissions today?
  2. 02Reduce · Where can we cut emissions?
  3. 03Assess · Could this activity generate carbon credits?
  4. 04Prepare · Are we ready for independent review?
  5. 05Validate · Does an independent body confirm the project?
  6. 06Connect · How do we reach the market?

An Optisource Technology business

Our approach

Measurement first. Credits only where they are credible.

Carbon credits can bring value to the right projects, but they start with reliable measurement and real reductions. We help you understand your emissions, decide where to reduce them, and then assess honestly whether a carbon credit route is feasible and worth pursuing.

Where a project does have potential, we help prepare it for independent validation and verification. We are clear about which steps we support and which are carried out by independent bodies, registries and buyers.

How carbon credit readiness works

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee carbon credit issuance, credit volumes, prices or revenue, certification or regulatory approval. Validation, verification and issuance are carried out by independent bodies and registries.

Assessment services

Six services, from footprint to market readiness

Use them individually or in sequence, depending on where your organisation or project is today.

01

GHG Baseline and Carbon Footprint Assessment

We measure your organisation's or project's greenhouse gas emissions using the GHG Protocol, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 and, where relevant, Scope 3.

  • Emissions baseline with methodology and assumptions documented
  • Activity data register and identified data gaps
  • Recommendations to improve data quality over time
02

Decarbonisation Strategy

We identify and prioritise practical ways to reduce emissions, such as energy efficiency, fuel switching, renewable supply and process changes, with indicative costs and trade-offs.

  • Reduction options compared by cost, effort and abatement potential
  • A phased decarbonisation roadmap
  • Support with setting realistic targets
03

Carbon Credit Eligibility and Feasibility

We screen whether an activity could generate carbon credits under a recognised standard, considering additionality, baselines, applicable methodologies, permanence, leakage and host-country requirements.

  • Feasibility assessment with key risks and assumptions
  • Indicative ranges for potential volumes, clearly labelled as estimates
  • Likely costs and timelines of certification
04

Carbon Credit Readiness Assessment

We assess how prepared a project is for independent validation, covering documentation, data, monitoring, ownership of emission reduction rights, stakeholder engagement and safeguards.

  • Readiness assessment across each area
  • Gap register with priorities
  • Action plan to close gaps before validation
05

MRV and Evidence Management

We design measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) processes so that monitoring data and supporting evidence can stand up to independent review.

  • Monitoring plan and data collection procedures
  • Evidence register and quality checks
  • Audit trail design for monitored data
06

Project Documentation and Market Readiness Advisory

We support the preparation of project documentation for review by an independent validation and verification body, and help you prepare for registry processes and conversations with buyers and financiers.

  • Support preparing project documentation for submission
  • Registry process plan
  • Preparation for engaging buyers, financiers or intermediaries

Advisory and technology

Expert judgement, supported by structured assessment

Our advisers work with assessment technology that structures data collection, applies consistent assessment criteria and keeps an evidence trail, so that conclusions can be explained and reviewed.

Who we work with

Starting in Nigeria, built for Africa

We work first with organisations and project developers in Nigeria, with wider African expansion planned. Projects in Nigeria may be subject to national climate change requirements, including those overseen by the National Council on Climate Change established under the Climate Change Act 2021. These requirements continue to develop, so we check each project's position at the time of assessment.

  • Project developers
  • Renewable energy companies
  • Industrial operators
  • Sustainability leaders
  • Climate investors

What happens next

We will review your enquiry and reply by email. If a carbon credit route looks relevant, we will explain what an eligibility and feasibility assessment would involve before any work begins.
